    • Obituary
      Samuel “Sam” J. Touch Sr., 90, of Hazleton, passed away with his loving family by his side Wednesday at St. Luke Manor, Hazleton. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Louis and Carrie (Perry) Touch and was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Hazleton.

      He is a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. Sam was a bus driver for Luzerne County and was also employed at Foster Wheeler. He was the lead singer and guitar player for the Local Band “Sammy and the Valiants” and also played with the band “Texas Slim”, as a young boy. Sam loved watching all sports and was an avid New York Yankee fan.

      Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife Ruby Gates; son Sam Touch Jr.; brothers Louis and Lindy Touch; and sister Carrie Uchno.

      Surviving are his daughters Carrie Touch and companion David Roberts, Weatherly; Rhonda Kunetz and husband Robert, Pine Grove; granddaughter Jennifer (Kunetz) Drey and husband Jake; grandson Antonio Touch and his fiancé Gabriella, CA; great grandchildren Hudson Drey and Ruby Drey; and cousin Judy Martini, Hazleton.

      His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 24th, at 10 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, McAdoo. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23rd, in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12
      th St., Hazleton, from 6-8 P.M.
