Obituary
James M. Tempest, 77, of Hazleton, passed away Monday at the Laurels after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James and Rose (DeGregoria) Tempest.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hazleton High School. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then reenlisted in the 1970’s showing his commitment to the service. James worked in retail management and retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his brother Richard and sister Pat Bacher.
Surviving are his brother Joseph and his wife Patricia, Mechanicsburg; brother in law David Bacher; nieces Kara Hunter and husband Matthew, and Krista Kepler and husband Travis; nephews David Bacher and wife Cristie and Joseph Tempest and wife Emily; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 5th, from 9:30-10:30 in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, with his funeral service being held at 10:30 with Reverend Shawn Simchock officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. - Guestbook
