Obituary
Born in Hazleton on May 18, 1929, Eleanor spent her life in the area she called home. She worked hard, loved deeply, and remained devoted to her family throughout the years. For over 40 years, she made her home in Drums where she enjoyed the quiet beauty of the countryside and the companionship of the beloved animals.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her beloved husband, Orion “Sam” Serenshock; son Leonard DeBias Jr; and brother Carl Christopher.
Eleanor is survived by her son Donald A. DeBias; sister Rosanne Sonner; brother Robert P. Christopher; and daughter-in-law Sandra DeBias. She was a loving grandmother to Jason Lee, Jarrid J, Jeremy, Lauren, and Christopher DeBias, and a caring step-grandmother to Jeff and Jennifer Parrish.
Eleanor requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County in Wilkes-Barre, reflection her lifelong love for animals.
As per her wishes, there will be no viewing. A brief graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Hazleton at the convenience of the family.
The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton is in charge of the arrangements. -
