      Joseph W. Sarge, 78, of Hazleton, passed away April 19th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton.  Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph Sarge and Rita (Simone) Montone.

      He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Hazleton Water Company after 40 years as a service technician.  Joseph loved spending time with his family especially game night. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.  He also enjoyed being a member of the “breakfast club” with his lifelong friends.

      Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his sister Natalie Fountaine, and his very close friend Jackie Frask.

      Surviving are his wife the former Sandy Yachera; daughter Amanda Sarge and her husband Howard Burdett and many nieces and nephews.

      His funeral service will be held Friday, May 1st, at 2 P.M. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Generose officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday in the funeral home from 12 until 2 P.M.

      Joe was a remarkable person who always enjoyed being around his friends, he brought great joy to many people. His love for fishing was only surpassed by his love for family and friends. You will be missed "Joey".
