Obituary
Anthony B. Rydzewski Jr., 80, of Sugarloaf, passed away suddenly Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton. Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Anthony B. and Mary (Masonis) Rydzewski Sr. and was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, Hazleton.
He was employed by the Hazleton Area School District as a music teacher for over 30 years and retired in 1998. He impacted many with his passion for music.
Tony is remembered by beloved his wife of 57 years, the former Anna Marie Muccigrosso; daughters Michelle Woratyla and husband Bryan; Christina Higgins and husband Roy, and Lisa Sheeto and fiancé Jake McKellar; grandchildren Tyler Higgins (Hannah Matarella), Connor Higgins, Bryan Woratyla (Gabby Hebal), Olivia Woratyla, Alexis Good and husband Edward, Carlena Sheeto (Gabriel Colyer), John Sheeto (Maggie Azzam), Jacob McKellar and Lexi LaRegina; sister Sandra Donn; nephew Brett Donn and niece Gina Coon.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grand dogs and watching his beloved Phillies and Eagles. He was a dedicated caregiver to his wife, standing by her side with patience, strength and unconditional love. His family was his greatest joy and took pride in being a steady presence for his children and grandchildren, guiding them with humility, humor, and wisdom.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 1st, at 10 A.M. in St. Cyril and Methodius Parish at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The family will receive friends on Monday morning at Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton from 8:30-9:30 A.M.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. -
