      John C. “Jack” Rubinate, 86, of Hazle Twp., passed away Sunday at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest. Born on December 16, 1939 in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Perna) Rubinate and was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Hazleton.

      He worked as a barber at White Haven State school for 35 years. He was a Cantor and choir member at Holy Rosary Church and a member of The Choralairs.  He was an artist and won several awards for his paintings and silver jewelry.

      Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Patricia “Pat” Vitro; daughters Jacquelyn Gerenza and husband Robert, Charlotte, NC, and Patrice Cera and husband Michael, Sugarloaf; grandchildren Devon, Courtney, Julia, and Justin Gerenza, and Felicia and Anthony Cera; brother Jerome ”Jerry” Rubinate, Hazleton; and sister-in-law Carol Vitro, Hazleton.

      His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12th, at 10 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church, Hazleton.  Burial will be in Holy Trinity German Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.

      The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton is in charge of the arrangements.
