    • Obituary
      Sally W. Quinn, 88, of Conyngham, passed away April 14th at Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater.  Born in Hazleton July 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Catherine (Houser) Welliver and was a proud lifelong resident of both the Hazleton Heights (Samuels Ave) and Conyngham (Howard Ave).
       
      She was a 1953 graduate of Hazleton High School.  Before retiring she was employed by the Hazleton Area School District (Cafeteria) and was a bookkeeper for Hazle Yellow Cab.
       
      She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, 46 S. Laurel St., Hazleton.
       
      Sally loved cooking and baking and working on word search puzzles.  She enjoyed day trips with her “best friend Donna”  to Atlantic City on Motor Transportation buses and to Mohegan Sun in Wilkes-Barre.
       
      She also enjoyed watching her neighbors dogs.
       
      Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband Robert H. Quinn in 2009.
       
      Surviving are her sons Robert Quinn, Stillwater, and Edwin Quinn, Conyngham; and grandchildren Nicole Prokop, Phoenix, AZ, and Joseph McCarr, New York City.  Also surviving are cousins Shirley Miller, New Coxeville, Dr. M.D. Scott Snyder, St. Louis Missouri, Bobby McGee, New York State, brother-in-law George Woodring, FL, and sister-in-law, Barbara Quinn, Baltimore, MD; and also many nieces and nephews.
       
      Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, at 10 A.M. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with pastor Chip Fairchild officiating.  Burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.
       
      Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 46 S. Laurel St., Hazleton.  The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements.
