    • Obituary
      Grace R. Marchese, 82, formerly of Hazleton, passed away Saturday at Providence Place, Drums, where she had been a resident. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Grace (Waltman) Colombo and was a member of St. John Bosco Church, Sugarloaf.

      Grace was a 1955 graduate from Hazleton High School. She was a telephone operator in West Chester, worked at Air Products and Chemicals in Emmaus, and worked at Tungsol doing payroll. She was also a teacher’s aide in the Hazleton Area School District.

      Grace loved sports and hardly ever missed her grandchildren’s baseball, football, and basketball games, she also loved to dance. She was a wonderful cook and baker and never went anywhere empty handed.

      Preceding her in death, in addition her parents, were her brother Pasquale Colombo Jr, and sister Joan Lachette.

      Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joseph A. Marchese; daughters Jacqueline Wolk and her husband Albert, Sugarloaf, and Nadine Lubrecht and her husband Donald, Conyngham; grandchildren Todd, A.J., Ryan, and Olivia Wolk, and Garret Oswald; and nieces and nephews.

      Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23rd, at 10 A.M. in St. John Bosco Church, Sugarloaf. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazleton. All are welcome to attend, but Covid-19 restrictions will be in place.
