      John A. Lettiere Jr., whom everyone knew as “Peaches”, 83, of Hazleton, passed away Saturday surrounded by his family at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Petrilla) Lettiere.

      He was a Navy Veteran and was a boilermaker for Dorr-Oliver, Hazleton. Peaches always had a great smile for you when he entered a room, he was a great father to his son and daughter and absolutely adored his grandsons. His passing leaves a giant hole that will never be able to be filled. All who knew him will forever miss him.

      Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his sister Ann McHugh, brother Robert Lettiere and brother-in-law Francis Libonati.

      Surviving are his daughter Jaclyn Lettiere-Harris, her husband Jeffery (Orwigsburg); son Eugene Lettiere (Drums); his grandchildren Jude and Ian Harris (Orwigsburg); brothers Gerard Lettiere and wife Paula (Florida), James Lettiere and wife Marion (Hazleton); sister Mary Jane Scarcella (Hazleton); brother-in-law John McHugh (Hazleton); former wife Francine Lettiere (Lansdale); sister-in-law Jacquelyn Libonati (Hazleton); and nieces and nephews.

      His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 26th, at 10 A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.
