Obituary
Born on February 14, 1932, to George and Angeline Joseph, George spent his life embodying kindness, generosity, and love. For 37 years, he worked as a milkman, a profession he embraced with passion and pride. George had a unique way of turning even the simplest job into something meaningful and joyful, spreading positivity in every neighborhood he visited. For decades after his retirement, he took great pride in hanging drapes and shades for a number of local businesses.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cora Ernestine Palermo Joseph; his brothers, John and Leroy; and his sisters, Mildred and Marie. Together with Cora, he shared nearly 62 years of marriage, a bond filled with unwavering love and devotion. Though she passed before him, George carried her memory in his heart every day, and their story remains an inspiration to all who knew them.
George is survived by his sons, George, James, Timothy, and Michael; his daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Vidette; dear Alyce; and his sister, Joanne. He also leaves behind his very special grandchildren: Christopher, Zachary, Kaylee, Corey, Jonathan, Angelina, Gabrielle, Lindsey; great grandchildren Luca, and Lexi. His family extends to his cherished granddaughters-in-law, Brianna and Brittany. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he took every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and milestones.
As he departed this world, George was surrounded by the warmth of his family, who will forever cherish the legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness he left behind. His life is a testament to a generation that did so much with so little, pouring their hearts and love into their children because that was all they truly had to give. Who could ask for anything more from a parent?
The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Paula Hahn and Linda Palermo and the wonderful staff at Fritzingertown Senior Living for providing care and comfort for the last ten years and the wonderful caregivers from All Care Home Care. They would also like to thank the ER staff and the nurses and aides of the 5th floor for the excellent care and compassion they provided during George’s most recent stay. Their dedication brought great comfort to George and his family.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 24th, at 9:30 A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23rd, at the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton from 6-8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Palermo Foundation. Condolences can be sent through www.moranfuneralhome.com.
Rest in peace, George Carmen Joseph. Your love and light will never be forgotten. -
