      Joan M. Esposito, 80, formerly of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday morning at the Corrigan House where she has been a resident. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Stephanie (Witcofski) Semuta and was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.

      She was employed by Standard Speaker for many years.

      Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Robert Esposito in 2016; brother Nicholas Semuta; and sister Monica Scalleat.

      Surviving are her sons Robert Esposito and his wife Rachel, Old Forge, and Donald Esposito and his wife Debbie, McAdoo; daughter Joanne Massage and her husband Jeffrey, Hummelstown; grandchildren Matthew, Destini, Justin, Christian, Amanda and Breanna Esposito, and Taylor, Abbey and Emily Massage; brother Joseph Semuta and his wife Mary Alyce, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.

      Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 9th, at 10 A.M. in Most Precious Blood Church. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hazleton Public Library,
      www.hazletonlibrary.org. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Corrigan House and the Maylath Valley Health System for the exceptional care she received.
