John F. Dougherty

      John F. “Jack” Dougherty, 85, of Hazleton, passed away Tuesday at his home.  Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Cyril and Elizabeth (O’Donnell) Dougherty and was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.
       
      He was a 1954 graduate of St. Gabriel’s High School and worked in the maintenance department for the Hazleton school district.
       
      Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his son John Dougherty; son-in-law Allan Sieverski; brother Cyril Dougherty; and brother-in-law Edward Latinski.
       
      Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Grace Kinney; daughter Mary Beth Sieverski; sons James Dougherty and wife Monica, and Robert Dougherty and wife Danielle; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister Joan Latinski; and nieces and nephews.
       
      His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 11th, at 10 A.M. in Most Precious Blood Church.  Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.
       
      The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements.

      My condolences to all of you. Jack was always very good to me and knowing he’s passed saddens me.
      I’ve always thought of him especially when I’ve seen, and certainly will when I see, Busch beer.
