Obituary
Lawrence “Parrot” Deritis, 76, of Freeland, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Fritzingertown Senior Living. Born in Freeland, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Molli) Deritis.
He was stationed in Germany as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. Larry worked as a Molder at Weir, formally known as Barrett-Haentjens, for over 30 years. He was a member of Jeddo Stars and Highland Social Club. He enjoyed being around his family and friends, his beloved dogs, watching sporting events, playing darts, and relaxing in his pool.
Larry predeceases his long-term companion, Cindy Treon of Freeland, PA, his sons Dante and wife Gina of Vero Beach, FL; Ryan and wife Kristin of Albrightsville, PA; grandsons Jayden and Brendan; his sister JudyAnn Stenholm of Henderson, TN; and former spouse Shelly Ksanznak of Vero Beach, FL.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18th at 10 AM in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday at the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton. -
