Obituary
Elizabeth A. Christino, 67, of Drums passed away peacefully Monday surrounded by family. Born in Hazleton on June 16, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucille (Sanzi) Yanac.
Loving wife of Maurice J. Christino and proud mother of Maurice (Gina) and Melissa; Beloved Mom-Mom of Maurizio, Valentina, and Pasquale.
Predeceased by brothers Paul and Thomas Yanac and sister Lucille Jones.
Survived by siblings MaryAnn (John) Levkulic and Richard (Carole) Yanac, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She graduated in 1974 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Following her career as an LPN she worked closely with children as a teacher’s aide for the Hazleton Area School District. She was a devout catholic and member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Freeland. Liz was an exceptional baker, talented crafter, avid Penn State football fan and lover of all things Disney. Above all she enjoyed spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren. Her unwavering selflessness, remarkable wit and miraculous strength will always be remembered.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22nd, at 12:30 P.M. in Good Shepherd Church, Drums. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21st, at the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, from 7-9 P.M.
