Obituary
George J. Calek Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on March 26th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Wargo) Calek Sr.
He was an Army Veteran and prior to retirement he worked for Rossi construction.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Anne Hartzel in 2018; granddaughter Casey Marie McCoy of Sugarloaf in 2024; brother Carl Calek; sisters Anna Catrone and Joan Grega; and niece Diana Butala.
Surviving are his daughters Kimberly (John) McCoy, Sugarloaf, and Christine Copeland, State College; grandchildren Philip McCoy, Sugarloaf, Dylan McCoy, Illinois, Megan Copeland, State College, Abby Copeland, and Jacob Copeland, both of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Kellie, Tyler, and Lexie McCoy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. -
