    • Obituary

      James M. Buyarski, 93, of Hazleton, passed away Sunday at the Laurels Senior Living where he had been a resident. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Tomcheck) Buyarski and was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Transfiguration Church, West Hazleton.

      He was an Army Veteran having served during World War II and was employed at Spalding Bakeries.

      Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife the former Mary Worek in 2003; daughter Monica Buyarski; and brothers John, Anthony, Robert and George Buyarski.

      Surviving are his daughters Stephanie Stewart and her husband Robert, Dolores Saucedo, and Joann Buyarski, all of Texas; grandchildren Samantha Marshall and Jessica Buczacki and her husband Douglas; great grandchildren A.J., Kolbe, and Ian Marshall; sisters Kathryn Pavone, Hazleton, Theresa Buyarski, Hazleton, and Mary Ann Wagner and her husband Robert, Reisterstown, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      His private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Transfiguration Church. Burial will be in Transfiguration Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12th, in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12
      th St., Hazleton, from 6-8 P.M.

      The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Laurels Senior Living Community for the wonderful care they gave to James.
