    • Obituary
      James E. Brown, 84, of Tresckow, passed away peacefully Wednesday at his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Gallagher) Brown and was one of 10 siblings including Bernard, Bernadette Jean, Girard, Hughie, Joseph, Michael, Robert “Bobby”, Teresa, and William “Billy”.

      James proudly served in UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS and was a KOREAN WAR VETERAN.

      Surviving is his devoted wife of 53 years, the former Jean Petrill, and his children Nadine M. Brown and Donald J. Brown whom he loved dearly.

      James was employed for 25+ years early in his career as a Manager in the Garment Industry. Prior to retiring, James also worked in the Health Care Industry for 15+ years as a Maintenance Supervisor.

      James Loved Sports and Fishing. On weekends during the fall, James (“Donald” as he was called by his brothers and family), enjoyed routing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team (as did his brothers Hughie & Billy). He was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan and every year looked forward to the opening day of Fishing Season.

      James is also survived by his long-time companion and caretaker Susan Walshock, and her children Joseph Walshock, and Andrea Martini and her husband Joseph Martini.

      His funeral service will be held privately on Thursday, February 4th, at 1:30 P.M. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12
      th St., Hazleton, with Deacon Robert Roman officiating. Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Hazleton.
